Marcus is the principal chiropractor at Gladesville Healthcare and has always had an interest in sports and health, deciding to combine the two after the personal benefits he experienced himself when playing football as a teenager. As a modern day, evidence-based and experienced practitioner, Marcus uses the latest chiropractic techniques including soft tissue therapy, manual adjustments and mobilisations, dry needling and development of functional exercise advice and programming to tailor his care to the individual patient.
After completing his undergraduate training at Macquarie University, Marcus graduated from a clinical Masters degree at Macquarie University in 2014. Since then, he has worked full-time in private practice while concurrently holding the role of head lecturer and unit coordinator for a number of health science units across two campuses at Western Sydney University – teaching students across a wide range of health professions ranging from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, paramedicine, podiatry, public health and many more.
Marcus has a strong philosophy of rehabilitation which constitutes a significant part of his care, focusing on the restoration of mobility and function of the neuromusculoskeletal system to ensure that the body can return to optimal function and performance. Marcus works across the spectrum of all age groups with keen interests in family care, acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, sports injuries and chiropractic care for seniors.
When you don’t see Marcus is clinic, you’re likely to find him in the grandstands at a Sydney FC match, trying out new recipes in the kitchen or on the many shores and beaches of Sydney wetting a line. Marcus holds current membership with Chiropractic Australia.
Alyse’s interest in chiropractic began at a young age, due to the benefits she herself received from treatment. Growing up playing netball, tennis and dancing competitively, Alyse experienced recurrent foot and back issues that she struggled to find permanent relief from – leading her to seek out and find long lasting results with chiropractic care.
She was inspired by the chiropractic principles of treating the patient as a whole and not just the injury itself, which she now applies to every patient she treats, working with them to not only relieve their pain, but improve their function and address their overall health goals. Every patient receives unique tailored treatment, based on what is most appropriate according to assessment and what the patient feels most comfortable with.
Alyse’s treatment focuses on identifying all the interactions of the structures within the body that may be contributing a person’s presenting symptoms. She places special emphasis on addressing the root cause of the injury or dysfunction to provide long lasting relief through a combination of hands on manual therapy and exercise therapy. Alyse also heads our Clinical Pilates program at Gladesville Healthcare where she is able to combine manual therapy with her passion for Pilates, in order to transition patients away from the treatment table and empowering them to take a more active role in their care.
Alyse’s treatment style allows her to effectively treat both spinal and extremity conditions in all age ranges. She loves being able to treat a wide range of biomechanical conditions and has a special love for treating neck pain and headaches.
In her spare time you’ll find her at the beach, planning a trip or spending time with her friends, husband and crazy dog Larry.
