Our Podiatrists provide comprehensive assessments and detailed management plans for conditions that relate to the feet and legs. We allow up to 30 mins for your initial appointment and conduct a thorough assessment before implementing any treatment.
What conditions do we treat?
We can provide advice and treatment for:
General foot care including corn and callous removal and nail cutting is a big part of Podiatry at Gladesville Healthcare and we welcome the ability to look after your feet. We provide long term management options for ingrown toenails including surgery under local anaesthetic to prevent them from recurring as well as a range of wart treatments that we can offer including acid application, wart needling and debridement. We also provide fungal nail treatment with the use of painless PACTmed light therapy. It has been shown to have a 70% success rate.
Diabetes Foot Assessments can also be conducted to monitor the blood vessels and nerves and help with the long-term management of the foot complications associated with diabetes. We also perform detailed biomechanical assessments that include muscle testing and gait assessments to get to the cause of your foot and leg pain. Dry needling and massage of muscle trigger points can also be used in the management of foot and leg pain.
The assessment of your footwear is very important as footwear can play a big role in both causing and relieving pain. Shoes that are too small can cause corns, callous, deformities of the toes, bunions and foot pain. We can provide advice on the shoes that would be suitable for your activity, work and leisure.
Our orthotics are different!
We have the ability to provide same day custom foot orthotics with our onsite orthotic lab, and can also recover and adjust orthotics in the time it takes to complete your treatment, meaning you don’t have to go without your orthotics!
Rather than hard rigid orthotics, we provide a softer EVA option that is better tolerated and will still last you years.
We work in a team environment.
Our clinic is multidisciplinary and we like to work together to treat people holistically if we can. We work with our Chiropractors and Physiotherapists to help with the management of back pain and other lower limb conditions. We can also refer to our Massage Therapist, Exercise Physiologist and Chiropractor for more extensive treatment and rehabilitation.
Did you know that you don’t need a referral to access podiatry services?
If you have private health insurance with extras, we are able to claim that for you and you just pay the gap. If you have chronic health conditions such as diabetes or osteoarthritis, you may be eligible for up to 5 treatments under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan where part of the consultation you can get a rebate from Medicare. You would need to speak to your GP about this. With a GP referral we can also provide podiatry services for those with a DVA gold card.
We can come to you!
If coming into the clinic is not an option for you, we also provide home visits to those in our local area. Please call us to see if home visits are available in your suburb. If you have any questions regarding any of the podiatry services offered, or if you want to know if we can help you, please feel free to give us a call and speak to one of our Podiatrists!
